![]() ![]() ![]() Martin’s lyrics, while good, have never been the center of the band’s appeal anyway they act as compliments to the music, which-as usual-is consistently excellent here. The death of Martin’s father in 2007 signaled a shift in the band’s lyrical focus-many of the songs on the last few albums, including IAMACEO, explore themes of life, death, and purpose, but are universal enough to appeal to just about anyone. Taking the cleaner, more refined sound of their last two albums (Dial M and The Changing of the Guard), IAMACEO reincorporates some of the elements from their early 2000s albums, dialing back the synths and adding in extra guitar layers, harmonica, and piano to create a strong, cohesive ten-song set. The band has an incredibly large and even more incredibly consistent catalogue, and their thirteenth LP IAMACEO, the first released on Martin’s own South Co. Their sound has changed over the band’s twenty-year history, from the noisy swirl of their early shoegazer albums Silver and Gold to the dreamy keyboard pop of The Fashion Focus, the 60s-influenced guitar pop of Leave Here a Stranger, to the moody string and trumpet-tinged Talking Voice vs. Helmed by guitarist and lead singer Jason Martin, they never really hit the mainstream, despite being label-mates with bands that did (Anberlin, MxPx, P.O.D.). This is a well configured, developed and functional application for my MacBook.Fire Note Says: Starflyer 59 continue refining their sound and redefining consistency.Īlbum Review: Starflyer 59 is the definition of an underground band. As an IT professional I have seen people put together an app in 2 days. I navigated over the webpage and found a good mix of quality videos, a forum and additional resources. But then I wanted learning material/content to support my study of the guitar and all the voicings. Everything can be printed and the print layout is a one pager and obviously well thought of. I was also pleased when I was able to adjust the layout of the UI. ![]() I have been looking for an App that has all material required but an app that also me to build the learning scales/content I need and modify as I go. I was unsure at first but the logic kicked in. When you log in you create your own folder and start storing content there. ![]() When I first logged in I did have to get accustomed the interface and the design. I consider myself an IT professional since its my career. I have had 20 guitar apps in three weeks looking for the right one. This a well thought out and well designed application with all the features, a storage file for all personally created scales and a well designed web page with some good learning material. Scales, chords and every option lesson content Other ideas for future versions: Add MIDI Clock or ReWire sync to automatically switch between groups or scrolling while using a DAW, and playing a song. May we have a user defined default color set instead of the default white color ? Now, I have to create a default shape with default colors then clone it. For training or mobile situations, or without instrument, it can be useful to hear the notes. No sound all all ( notes cannot be played ). In addition to the global zoom, a vertical zoom should be implemented to adjust the fretboard heigth, and to display several fretboards, i.e. The note removal is global where it should be individual. And sometimes I was unable to find a good shape, for fingering purposes, so I have some note positions I cannot remove. Fortunately, most of the time you can find a suitable shape, but it’s a wasting time reviewing all differents shapes before findind the good one. You cannot delete one individual note from a shape. This app is very useful and very ergonomic but some suggestions : Great, but some improvements would be highly appreciated ![]()
